Funnies

So we think Thing 1 and Thing 2 are pretty funny.  I'm always delighted with the unexpected things that pop forth spontaneously from their mouths.  See latest examples below:

1.  Yesterday...on Easter morning...over a sugary Easter basket...Thing 1 told me that he thinks all holiday "people" (Santa, Easter Bunny, etc.) are in a league whose goal is to give people diabetes.  I think he may be right.

2.  Thing 2 asked me what the Earth's last name is tonight.  Honestly, nothing like that has ever crossed my mind.  But once he said it, it made me think about how the Earth is definitely a single name artist, like Prince or Madonna.  I mean, that's what just feels right to me, I guess.  However, I decided not to go into all of that with Thing 2.  We just left the subject with Mr. Knightley's supposition that the Earth's last name is Smith.
